What is purple and green and is worn on the tennis court? The Asics Women’s Gel Solution Speed 2 of course! I am currently two weeks into playtesting the Solution Speed 2 and am very happy with the results so far.
I will first start off with the look. Solution Speeds are known for their bright colors and this iteration definitely did not disappoint. I didn’t know at first if the purple and green colorway would clash with my apparel but I found it to be a fun pop of color to have on my feet no matter what I was wearing.
Since we will have a full review in a couple weeks, I will give you a sneak peek of my initial thoughts. When I first tried the shoe, I found it to be on the narrower side (yeah!) but would officially call it slightly narrower than medium width. There was definitely a presence of a medium arch support but found over the next couple days it molded to my ideal preference. I had a small break-in period with this shoe but with no pain. I found the toe box to be a little tight-fitting but it loosened up to the perfect fit after just thirty minutes on the court. The shoe is very comfortable with a lot of plush cushioning. It is a lightweight shoe so it felt very fast on the court but also very stable. If I had to give a small knock, I would say I am still getting used to the traction. It gives a little bit more than I am used to and I have slid a couple times.
I have been loving playtesting this shoe as it has the ability to go from court to gym to even a run. We have about two weeks left of the playtest, so be sure to check out Tennis Warehouse in about three to four weeks for the full video and written reviews.
