in Shoes and Apparel
Unless you’re a Nike faithful, you might not know that Nike launches new apparel collections at the start of each quarter. Today the summer 2014 collections roll out, and on May 1, we’ll get a few more pieces when we’ll see what Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Maria Sharapova, Serena Williams, and the rest of the Nike athlete crew will wear for this year’s French Open.
, Nike is offering a palette of soft lilac and pink, with punches of vibrance from a darker purple (Bright Grape) and a neon green/yellow (Venom Green). Grey is the new neutral tying it all together. There seems to be more prints available this season as well. For me the standout print in the women’s collection would be the Printed Pleated Skort
. Dress this one up with a match day top or dress it down with either Summer Tennis Tank
or Hot Shot Racer Tank
for practice sessions.
also have their share of prints. A print top is nothing out of the ordinary, even on the men’s side, but print shorts may just become the season’s staple. We began to see them at the start of the year, and I shared my favorites in a previous blog
. Both Rafa
are slated to sport grey print shorts through the summer.
Although prints are eye catching, the Dri-Fit Touch henley
deserve some added attention. The material is butter soft in the hand. As a bonus, this has all the performance benefits of Nike’s standard Dri-Fit, but the fabric looks like cotton so this one translates more seamlessly to your off-court life.
