So sensible people might head indoors, but tennis players who don’t have access to indoor facilities will brave the cold to get their time on the court. Even die hard tennis players don’t have to freeze their stockings off, though. Here are some of my favorites from this season.
For the guy who likes something that’s going to look sweet on and off the court, my choice is the Nike Winter Squad Quilted Jacket. Shhh, I might be picking one up for my husband as a gift. In shape, it reminds me of the mechanic’s jacket style. It gets style points for that silhouette and the quilted outer shell.
I am a big fan of classic track jackets, too. I’m loving the retro look of the adidas Tennis Spezial Jacket, as seen on Jo-Wilfried Tsonga at the ATP World Tour Finals. The colors and design both are on point, and with its throwback look, the jacket has lasting appeal. This one might end up in a box for my brother.
Personally, I like the cold weather, but as a Californian, I don’t get to wear as much winter wear as I’d like. It sounds crazy, but I wouldn’t mind a few cold days. OK, not Chicago cold, I’m not sure I could handle that, but at least below freezing would be nice so I had an excuse to wear some cold weather gear. With all that said, a great option for the more-chilly-than-cold regions or for a warm-up is the KSwis Fall 1/2 Zip Top. This one is built to move, and for extra warmth, there’s the thumbholes on the sleeve cuffs.
For fans of cotton, I suggest the Under Armour CC Storm Hoody. With Charged Cotton, you get the cozy feel of cotton with Under Armour technical performance. As part of the Storm collection, this hoody also has a water resistant finish. Pour some water on it, and it will bead right off. We tested it out, and it works. OK, so you can’t stand in a rainstorm and stay dry, but it can withstand some raindrops as you dash from the car to shelter.
The Lucky In Love Ms. Peer-son LS Top is a cute way to stay warm on the court. Young and fun in style, the top is made of performance fabric that’s suited for tennis. The boys will love the Nike KO Hoody. It is a no-brainer. It’s really warm with a fleece interior, and has a sporty look with a large Swoosh on the chest that works for tennis and for time spent off the court.
