First Look: New Balance 996v2

With an updated design and fun new cosmetics, New Balance has made the 996v2 a quick, stable and reliable high performing shoe. Featuring a low-to-the-ground feel, we found just the right amount of cushioning to provide a soft response without leaving us weighed down on the court. The hounds tooth patterned NDURE cage not only looks trendy and fashion forward, but adds lightweight support and breathability. With a full herringbone outsole, we were hesitant about the traction, but happily found the perfect blend of give and go on the court. Plus, because New Balance offers different width options, we were able to dial into the fit and find just the right size to fit our feet.

We were happy with the quick response this shoe offered while looking fun and bright on the court. Be sure to check out Heather Watson’s shoe of choice and our review to see what else we had to say about this new shoe from New Balance:
