Do you tend to keep it feminine and elegant on the court? Or are you an eclectic, playful fashionista? Maybe you trend toward a simple, sporty-chic look? Or do you rock your avant-garde style with bold and edgy styling? Whatever style you gravitate toward, we have four new brands at Tennis Warehouse that will suit your personality while you are on the court!
If you are anything like me or my tennis friends, your life is busy and you are usually juggling your outfits with your daily activities — from the gym, to work, to the court, to running errands, etc.! So we wanted to help you out and grabbed 10 super cute pieces from Nike and made several different outfits perfect for all areas of your day — from sporty to sassy to strong looks — we’ve got you covered!
Like the professional athletes of our sport, today’s tennis players don’t just play tennis anymore to get their exercise in — you can find them in the gym, running, hiking, taking barre classes, kickboxing, cross-fitting, etc. Which is why this blog is a shout out to those dynamic ladies out there who find themselves on the court, off the court, in the gym and every where in between on a daily basis. These are the looks the active, athletic tennis ladies live in.
When Michelle kicked off our Breast Cancer Awareness series, she said there’s a good chance you know someone who has fought breast cancer. In my case, it’s a college friend. Though not a tennis player, she leads an active, outdoor lifestyle. She is in her 30s. I knew that breast cancer didn’t just wait until you hit XX age, but I didn’t know. She fought and is a survivor. Her spirit is so inspiring.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, we have chosen some of our favorite times from our Shop Pink page, which features apparel and gear that supports the cause by donating some proceeds to cancer research. Michelle posted her look last week, but now it’s my turn.
For my look, I went with pieces that work for on- and off-court training. First I chose the New Balance Hope Courage Love Tee. I love a good tech tee, and I love ombre. The message is inspirational. Awesome! Plus, New Balance has been a Susan G. Komen Foundation partner for 25 years and will donate a minimum of $500,000 this year to the cause. I love to mix-and-match, and our weather promises to cool off soon (got our first rain of the season finally!) so I went with the adidas Pink Ribbon Tight on the bottom. This three-quarter tight is great for cool days on court, and I can easily wear it for running or gym workouts. adidas donates 10% of profits to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
We all chose the Prince T22 in pink and white because this specific color is to raise awareness. Prince teamed up with Bright Pink and will donate some profits to this nonprofit group. When it comes to performance, the T22 is among the best out there. It’s a great fit for my wider foot and offers loads of comfort and durability. It’s pretty much has everything a girl could want!
Stay tuned for the other TW Stylists to chime in with their Shop Pink outfits.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, all of the TW Stylists have chosen some of their favorite items from our Shop Pink section that feature apparel that support the cause (be on the lookout for more looks to come). We are loving the fun, pink styles from New Balance, adidas, Prince, Wilson and Under Armour that all benefit finding a cure and preventing breast cancer!
Here’s my look — I started with these super fun shorts from adidas, the Pink Ribbon Short. I saw these the day they first came in and loved them — then I found out that part of the proceeds go toward All Fight, the organization that adidas has paired up with this month to make sure funds go toward finding a cure. These lightweight shorts are perfect for me because I can wear them on the court, in the gym, on a hike, or just because! I paired the shorts with this sassy, fun tee from New Balance. This Don’t Get Busted tee adds a bit of lightheartedness when dealing with a serious subject and is 95% polyester which makes it a great moisture wicking tee for any activity and it’s a great price for a tee that goes toward a cause! Ladies rejoice! I am once and for all debunking the idea that athletic wear cannot be stylish. Yes, you read that right. With the last of the four major Fashion Weeks wrapping up in Paris on Wednesday, I couldn’t help but notice many similarities between items that Tennis Warehouse carries and items that were featured on the catwalk. Here, take a look for yourself! Show up to the courts in one of these outfits, and you’ll be the most up-to-date player of the latest fashion trends.
Fila / Rag & Bone
It’s almost as though Fila and Rag & Bone worked as partners together on their collections. That, or they’re experts in knowing what’s fashionable! Both used an almost identical pattern on their tops to create a sophisticated look.
Three of our lovely, talented, and fashion forward playtesters took to Tennis Warehouse to come up with three hot and distinctive Spring court looks for you ladies to check! Brittany, Karly and I were all excited to get to mix and match some items from the new Spring and Summer apparel we have been getting in stock. Check out our looks and let us know what you think!
Standing at 5’11″, I find it a constant struggle to find tennis and workout apparel that is long enough to practice and train in but also comfortable, stylish and functional. This week, I went in search at Tennis Warehouse for the best top options that we carry that are fashionable, comfortable and suited for the taller ladies.
We’ve all stood in our closet wondering what to wear. There are days where outfits that looked good last week don’t look quite as good this week. If I’m in a rush, I just need a few go to outfits that I know will work! Here are some quick matchy-match outfits that will look fabulous and perform on the court!
adidas is all in! Fresh Pink is the theme of this outfit featured below. The ForMotion technology allows for a better fit while in motion making the Barricade Polo extremely comfortable during tough matches. The back features a mesh panel helping you keep cool. Pairing that up with the Barricade Skort lets you move freely on the court. The pop of Intense Green gives it an electrifying look! For a head-to-toe look add on the Barricade adilibria shoe (read TW shoe review here). All together, this outfit is for the ultimate competitor ready to conquer her opponents! Note: both items come in multiple colors – adidas Spring Barricade Group.
Nothing can look more clean than white! The outfit featured below is great on a hot sunny day or when going to tennis clubs with “all white” dress codes. Asics’ Tennis Tank features a sporty look with a halter leading to a racer back. The built-in shelf bra keeps you supported during rigorous movements. Pair that up with the Tennis Skort and you have an alluring outfit! For the complete outfit, lace up the Gel Resolution 3 shoe. (watch TW shoe review video here.) Our female playtesters rated this highly in all categories. Note: if you happen to be a Lakers fan, or just a fan of purple and yellow, the group also comes in those colors – Asics Spring Group.
There are times where you want to have the style of the women on tour. This outfit is the look of Maria Sharapova. The Nike Maria Statement Woven Dress features bonded seams providing excellent comfort. The racer back gives it a sporty look and a high impact built-in shelf bra keeps you secured. The shade of Chlorine Blue with Copa and Bronze gives this dress a radiant look! If you want a little more coverage/place to hold tennis balls, match it with the Seamless Compression Short. For a full-on Nike look, step into the Lunar Speed 3 shoe. Its lightweight Flywire construction keeps you supported during lateral movements and feeling fast on the court.
After the cold winter months, I’ve been waiting to hit the outdoor courts and flaunt some new ensembles.
As we get closer to spring, the sun starts to peak through the clouds, warming the fields of green and persuading the flowers to bloom. The colors of nature’s surroundings become more vibrant and fashion follows suit. With the new outfits rolling into Tennis Warehouse, it’s obvious from the upcoming designs that spring is near!
1. Tail’s Glory Dignity Dress features a watercolor design for a spunky look. Double straps in the back cross for a flattering look, while the tiered layers at the skirt put a flirty bounce in your walk.
2. When you want to be ready for the heat, the KSwiss Spring Boardshort is great for casual wear on and off the tennis court as it features 15+ UV protection. You can easily go from a strenuous match to finishing your day off relaxing at the beach. Comes in two colors: Black Print and Aquarius Print.
3. For the ladies who want to get a little more sun on their skin, Lija designed a sports bra that is lightweight and looks great by itself! The Spring Electrify Bra is lightweight to help you keep cool on the court, and features a stylish smoky print. The thin adjustable straps work with tops that feature a spaghetti strap look.
4. The Fila Spring Center Court Skort brings an electrifying look. The built-in short and side slits make it comfortable for aggressive movements. Comes in two colors: Green Flash and Scuba Blue.
5. The design on the Bolle Mint Condition Print Tank looks like misting waves with a light breeze. This top is lightweight making it extremely comfortable during the hot days.
As more items become available, you’ll be sure to find the look that’s right for you! Remember to check out the Women’s Apparel page for more designs!
