If you are anything like me or my tennis friends, your life is busy and you are usually juggling your outfits with your daily activities — from the gym, to work, to the court, to running errands, etc.! So we wanted to help you out and grabbed 10 super cute pieces from Nike and made several different outfits perfect for all areas of your day — from sporty to sassy to strong looks — we’ve got you covered!
Like the professional athletes of our sport, today’s tennis players don’t just play tennis anymore to get their exercise in — you can find them in the gym, running, hiking, taking barre classes, kickboxing, cross-fitting, etc. Which is why this blog is a shout out to those dynamic ladies out there who find themselves on the court, off the court, in the gym and every where in between on a daily basis. These are the looks the active, athletic tennis ladies live in. Continue reading →
We tennis players are a good lookin’ bunch! Our sport of choice would certainly win the “best dressed” award when put up against the competition. Our Tennis Warehouse playtesters have picked their favorite racquets, shoes, and strings of 2013, and now we’re looking at clothing. So without further ado, here are our favorite apparel pieces and brands for the year.
In late 2013, we introduced a new men’s brand called Travis Mathew. It outfitted James Blake in the latter years of his career. After retiring, Andy Roddick also signed on as an ambassador as well as an investor. It’s all about great style and feel for this Southern California-based brand. Count Jason and our own Andy Gerst as fans.
Jason: “I’m a classy guy and this is a classy brand. ‘Nuff said.” (Editor’s note: Plus he’s the biggest James Blake fan of all time!)
Andy: “It looks awesome, and it feels even better than it looks! The apparel pieces have a ‘classed-up California surfer vibe’ going on, which, growing up in a Southern California beach town, really appeals to me. This stuff looks great on and off the court!”
Being that tennis has consumed a good 95% of my life, you can assume that means my family and friends eat, sleep and breathe almost as much tennis as I do on a daily basis (and I certainly make sure they get their daily dose of tennis). Even the members of my family that don’t play tennis anymore still love the clothes and accessories that tennis players adorn from the hoodies to headbands to tops and capris, etc. And don’t even get me started on the obsession from my brother-in-law-to-be with the sour candy from Sugarpova.
With that being said, although I am slacking slightly this year in my gift buying, there’s a good chance most of my presents will be bought where? Where else but the Warehouse! So while I can’t disclose too much on the specifics of my shopping cart because I know I have snoopers in my family…I can offer some pretty awesome stocking stuffers (I’m talking some seriously fun swag for under $20!) for you guys to contemplate for the tennis lovers in your life! If the weather out there is frightful, it’s time to head indoors for some tennis! And even in milder climates, it’s time to pull on some outerwear — or at least start thinking about it. There are so many options to create a variety of styles, so you can mix things up day to day or keep your look streamlined. Below are just a few looks that are perfect for the season.
Rich colors have a way of seeming cozy and warm. Nike got it just right with raspberry red and deep purple. The colors look great together. Above, the Pure SS Top is paired with the Slam Skirt. The Pure Top is a flattering top that offers full coverage and a great option for cooler days. Throw on the Nike Knit Sweater for added warmth for a classic finish. The sweater looks sharp on court but just as smart with a pair of jeans. Accessorize as you see fit, but we’ve chosen the Featherlight Visor and a Maggie Mather tote in a neutral color.
Believe it or not, ’tis the season to start getting excited about the Holidays, which means, it’s time for Holiday SHOPPING!
Whether you are ready for it or not, Black Friday will be here before you know it (we are just 2 Fridays away!). And if you are a consumer like me and love finding an amazing deal, you better make sure you check out the Black Friday sale at Tennis Warehouse.

I’m really loving a bunch of the pieces in the Nike Winter group that we have right now. We are seeing a lot of purple from several brands right now and the Purple Dynasty from Nike is really standing out as a great seasonal color. My favorite WTA player, Petra Kvitova, has one of my favorite looks at the moment.
The big serving lefty from the Czech Republic is wearing the Nike Winter Printed Knit Top, (which is similar to the top Li Na wore at the US Open, which I also loved). Despite the chill in the air, some of us will continue to benefit from the SPF protection (UV 40+) this top offers while playing outside, while everyone else that moves indoors for the fall/winter season will enjoy how lightweight this top is so it won’t weigh you down on the court.
She pairs it with the Nike Winter Woven Pleated Skort in purple dynasty. I love this skort because of it the fit, but also that line toward the middle that looks like a ribbon encircling the skort. Her shoe of choice is the Nike Zoom Vapor Tour 9s in the White, Pink, Purple colorway. I love the the swoosh on this shoe because it has a sparkly pop of that purple dynasty to tie the whole look together.
Hope you all are enjoying the great tennis in Instanbul at the BNP Paribas WTA Championships!
While you won’t normally catch me rocking pink apparel, I definitely will always make an exception for Breast Cancer Awareness month this October. And I hate to admit it, I have to face the facts that it is no longer summer and the warm weather is long gone. Therefore, I picked one of my favorite sweatshirts that has come out all year, the Under Armour Power in Pink Fighter Hoodie. In fact, TW Playtester Michelle loves it so much she is now a proud owner of the sweatshirt. There are so many things I love about this hoodie. The first is how soft and comfortable it is. I honestly would never take it off. I also love the heather grey color combined with the pop of pink on the hood. Lastly, I love the inspirational message of “She’s a fighter” going down the right sleeve as well as the pink ribbon on the hood.
2011 French Open Champion, Li Na has her eye on a US Open title this week at Flushing Meadows. Between her sassy personality when giving interviews, to her on court demeanor and text book groundstrokes, it’s hard not to love this woman’s personality and game. This year, her US Open gear happens to be my favorite, so let’s take a look at what she’s working with.
