Djokovic Wins 3rd Rome Trophy

As we anxiously await the start of the French Open, Head player Novak Djokovic claimed his fourth straight win last weekend over Rafael Nadal. That makes 3 Rome Masters titles for the Serbian player with a score of 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 in the final. Nole heads into Roland Garros as a major title favorite.

The victory in Rome gives Djokovic titles in three of the five Masters 1000 events played so far this season. “After three years it is a pleasure to win this trophy again. Rafa has such a tough game and is a difficult opponent always with his game and style.” said the Serb. Djokovic has now claimed Rome honors in 2008, 2011 and now 2014.

We thought it was worth noting to let you guys know that Nole donated all of his €549,000 prize money from the Rome Masters to the flood victims in his home country of Serbia. Pretty impressive!

In doubles, Nenad Zimonjic (also a Head Graphene Speed player) teamed up with Daniel Nestor to win their 27th tour-level team title in Rome, when they captured the doubles title for a second time after 2009. The sixth seeds defeated the team of Robin Haase and Feliciano Lopez 6-4, 7-6 (2) in the final.

Play with heart,

Michelle
