Success! Head players win tournaments in early 2013

If Head’s New Year’s Resolutions for 2013 were along the lines of “Immediately win two individual tournaments and a team tournament,” then the year as started out as a great success. With three Head players, Andy Murray, Richard Gasquet and Anabel Medina Garrigues, subsequently adding a title under their belts, the sponsored players of the sports company are doing remarkably well for so early in the year.

Murray took charge in Brisbane, coming to the Sunshine State (Queensland, Australia, folks — not Florida!) to defend his title at the Brisbane International tournament. Playing with his trusty YOUTEK IG Radical Pro (check it out on our website, also for the review, and the video review), Murray defeated Gregor Dimitrov 7-6 (7-0), 6-4. As his 25th title from 38 finals, Murray was pleased with his win, saying, ”It’s been a good start to the year, obviously. I trained hard to get ready for this period of the year.” Keep an eye on him at the Australian Open as he looks to continue his early success in the next Grand Slam.

Richard Gasquet, much to Karly’s excitement, won his eighth career title at the Qatar ExxonMobil Open in Doha. He beat Nikolay Davydenko 3-6, 7-6(4), 6-3 with his YOUTEK IG Extreme Pro (check it out on our website, also for the review, and the video review). He reported, ”I’m really happy with the way I played. It was important for me to win the final here.”

Last but not least was Anabel Medina Garrigues, playing with the Head YOUTEK IG Extreme MP, who competed fiercely with her Spanish team to win the Hopman Cup against Serbia 2-1 in the final in Perth. With Serbia in the lead, Medina Garrigues scrapped for the win against Ivanovic, with a score of 6-4 6-7(3) 6-2. She then teamed up with Verdasco to defeat Ana Ivanovic and world No.1 Novak Djokovi,c 6-4 7-5 in the mixed doubles for the title.

With the upcoming grand slam I hope you’re as excited for me to see the results, and cheer on our favorite players all the way, hopefully, to the finals.

Siobhan
