Keeping Up With the Playtesters…Round 4

This week I wanted to ask the Tennis Warehouse playtesters about some of the rituals they have during tournaments. With such varrying styles of tennis, it is interesting to see the similarities and differences between each of our playtesters!

So when asked,

“Where can you usually be found during the 5 minutes prior to a tournament match?”

Here is how our playtesters answered…(If you have any questions for the playtesters, email them to: feedbacktw@tennis-warehouse.com)

Chris: “Honestly? I’m probably about 20 minutes from the tournament trying to drive fast enough to make it inside the 15 minute default window yet still avoid a speeding ticket.”

Mark: “I usually make one last trip to the bathroom, visualize the process going really well, and develop a quick meditative thought on my preparation.”

Granville: “I will be stretching.”

Brittany: “I’m normally by myself in a corner. I don’t have an rituals or anything before a match but normally I like to check to make sure I have all my equipment ready to go (water, grips, any taping). I am maybe doing a little jumping around to get my blood pumping.”

Andy: “I’ll be re-gripping my racquet, tying my shoes, and then…T-SHIRT TIME!!”

Tiffani: “Nowadays it’s chasing my 2-year-old around or changing the newborn’s diaper. I’m not too intense these days!”

Jason: “Listening to my pump up song. Duh!”

Karly: “Wherever I am, I’m a nervous wreck. That’s why sometimes I have listen to Rod Stewart. I need to boost my confidence.”

Spencer: Couldn’t be reached for comments at this time — rumor has it he is in the bathroom.

Troy: “I always try to get a last minute bathroom break, being that I drink lots of fluids prior to a match. Other than that I make sure my shoes are secure and my double socks are not bunched up in the toe box.”

and Michelle: “I need to distract myself and keep busy right before a match, so I am either re-gripping racquets, jumping rope, or fixing my hair. Definitely with my head phones on. Usually in my own world without even realizing much of what is going on around me.”

Thanks for checking out this week’s answers — If you have a question you want the playtesters to answer, email us: feedbacktw@tennis-warehouse.com

Play with heart,

Michelle
