Keeping Up With the Playtesters

I always get a bit bummed the couple days after a Grand Slam ends. For two weeks straight I had hours on end of awesome tennis to watch (good thing Davis Cup is back in action this weekend), and now football is the only thing I see when I turn on the TV (which, isn’t a bad thing, go Niners, it just isn’t tennis!). Anyway, to recap our US Open picks, my picks were knocked out by the 4th or 5th day of the US Open, while Karly and Jason were the only two playtesters who called the US Open 2013 Champions — and Tiffani was oh, so close with her Gasquet pick! This week, since I don’t have any live tennis to watch today, I decided to bug my fellow playtesters and ask them,

“Who from the WTA or ATP would play doubles with? (We already answered the mixed doubles question, so stay within your gender on this one!)”

Check out their answers!

Granville: “Bob Bryan, Southpaw (You talkin’ to me?)”

Chris: “John McEnroe.”

Karly: “Andrea Petkovic.”

Mark: “McEnroe.”

Tiffani: “Cara Black. We might not make the tallest doubles team in the world, but she is a former world No. 1, for one. And two, have you seen her volley? I think that more than makes up for my molasses reaction time at net. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cThQIhFSZk

Andy: “Marcos Baghdatis!”

Brittany: “Andrea Hlavackova —  doubles specialist that seems super fun to hang out with both on and off the court.  Not to mention her father is master brewer (bonus points)!”

Jason: “I know most people think I would pick Rafa, heck, I even thought I’d pick Rafa. But, I thought I’d switch it up a bit. From Spain to France. I will go with Jo Willy Tsonga. Great player, but I know that even when we lose, we’d have a great time hitting the town.”

Spencer: “McEnroe. With Stepanek as a strong second.”

Troy: “James Blake”

and Michelle: “There are so many awesome WTA doubles specialists, I absolutely love Elena Vesnina. I follow her on Instagram and Facebook and just know we would not only have a blast on the court, but also off the court…plus, I have always gotten along really well with Russian players!”
